Cheese Lady

My lifelong addiction to pimiento cheese has just become  impossible to kick, thanks to Miss Bonnie.  Bonnie Edelman is known to us as “the cheese lady”.  A local foodie phenom, she dutifully delivers a handsome supply of her charming jars of Miss Bonnie’s Gourmet every Friday for our clients and staff to sample.  The original flavor of Miss Bonnie’s Gourmet Pimiento Cheese won me over as the best I had ever had since my super-fabulous grandmother-inlaw’s (luv ya Gan!)  But when Bonnie broke out the subtly hot Jalapeno flavor; creamy, savory and delightfully twangy with a hint of heat, I became all in for life. Now with the new cheddar blend, Miss Bonnie is the first non-fashion product to make Roan’s lovethenew list.  Congratulations to Bonnie on all her recent accolades and success.  She’s got “the cheese touch” in the best way.  You can now find her on the shelves of over 1200 grocery and gourmet stores in America and at missbonnies.com.

On Our Walls

Roan is a visual feast for the eyes and a tactile feast for the hands, but part of our soul is on our west wall.  We call it “The Gallery” and it will house a new  art installation every 2-3 months.  Currently we are featuring the work of Dragana Crnjak, courtesy of Page Bond Gallery.  Dragana’s use of shape color and texture play into the very core of what Roan is all about, visually stunning, sometimes contradictory, complex and simply playful. In her words, “I am drawn intuitively to the ideas of the uplifting but still fragile energy of a new beginning, a sense of levitation, the transitional  moments of becoming and vanishing”.  Oh Dragana, you don’t know how  truly fashionable you are.  Her works are available for purchase through the Page Bond Gallery (804)359.3633 and pagebondgallery.com.
