3.1 Phillip Lim
“3.1 is about clothes that refine instead of define. Confident, unidentifiable, chic and most of all effortless.”
Phillip Lim was born in Thailand in 1973 to Chinese immigrants who fled to California to escape Cambodia’s civil war. Growing up, he did not dream of being a designer. But during a weekend job at Barneys in Beverly Hills, he had an epiphany. After interning with Katayone Adeli, he departed to create his own collection. At 31, Phillip Lim debuted his line with instant success. In 2007, just 2 years later, Lim won the prestigious CFDA Swarovski Award in Women’s Wear. Lim’s raison d’êtreis is providing an approachable designer experience with beautiful everyday classics accented with touches of madness. The result: cool, easy, chic looks for men and women that embody youthful elegance and personal style. (31philliplim.com)
