Originally from San Francisco, Wang moved to New York City to attend Parsons Design School at the age of 18. In his sophomore year, he began designing his collection and officially launched his first collection in 2007. In the spring of 2009, he premiered T by Alexander Wang, a line of cotton tees, tanks and t-shirt dresses.
Now 25, Wang is one of the youngest designers to win the CFDA Swarovski Womens Wear Designer of the year. He is known for his casually cool downtown style, drawing from inspiration of the eighties, French chic, and rock grunge.
