Christian Louboutin

“I did not really choose the red sole. Its more like the red sole came to me and had to stay with me. It started as a happy accident, which I kept. So the first prototype arrives. Its very similar to my designs so I was very happy. But something was missing. Thank God I had this girl with me who was painting her nails. I grabbed the nail polish and I painted the sole.” – Christian Louboutin
A staple in any fashionista’s closet, these shoes are coveted by women around the globe. Born and raised in Paris, Louboutin apprenticed for the Folies Bergeres and freelanced for top designers including Chanel, YSL, and Maud Frizon. In 1992, Louboutin established his own brand and opened the first boutique in Paris. Women now lust after these red-soled masterpieces. And why wouldn’t they when he intends on creating “shoes that are like jewels.”
